Dr. Sharaara Rahman, DPM, MS, is a board-qualified foot and ankle surgeon who completed her surgical residency at Lenox Hill Hospital – Northwell Health. During her training, she served as Chief Resident, earned additional credentials in reconstructive surgery, and received a certificate in Healthcare Management from Yale University.
Dr. Rahman—known affectionately as Dr. Shar—completed her undergraduate studies at SUNY Binghamton, majoring in Biology. She was a Ronald E. McNair Scholar, received the Dale B. Terry Memorial Foundation Award, and published her Honors Thesis in both the Biology and Chemistry Departments.
She went on to earn a Master of Science in Biology from the University of Houston–Clear Lake, where she published cancer-related research in the Journal of Analytical Chemistry and the Journal of Biomedicine. Dr. Shar later received her Doctorate in Podiatric Medicine from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine, where she was honored with the Class of 2020 Susheel Bhatla Award.
Passionate about both medicine and community impact, Dr. Shar currently anchors a health show on IBTV USA titled “Health and Happiness”, which educates the South Asian community on wellness and medical topics. She also mentors youth through the non-profit organization Children of 1971.
Fluent in Bangla, Urdu, Hindi, and English, Dr. Shar brings cultural awareness and empathy to her care. She has a special interest in cosmetic foot surgery, sports medicine pathologies, and reconstructive forefoot procedures. Outside the clinic, she enjoys fashion, world travel, and spending time with her two daughters, family, and friends.
Her long-term goal is to drive innovative advancements in podiatric medicine—blending surgical expertise with patient-centered care.
